1962
So the nominees were:
- Anne Bancroft in The Miracle Worker
- Bette Davis in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?
- Katharine Hepburn in Long Day's Journey Into Night
- Geraldine Page in Sweet Bird of Youth
- Lee Remick in Days of Wine and Roses
A legendary year that looks WOW! Which one of these brilliant actresses will get my vote?
What do you think? What's your ranking? What's your prediction for my ranking?
This one could go anyway considering they are all quite good in their own way.
ReplyDelete1. Bancroft
2. Page
3. Davis
4. Hepburn
5. Remick
This is a very random prediction.
Anne, please.
ReplyDeleteI've seen three of nominees (Bancroft, Davis, and Page) and they have all been amazing so far. I promise to watch Hepburn before this ranking is over (she's saved on my DVR). Here's my prediction:
ReplyDelete1. Geraldine Page
2. Katharine Hepburn
3. Anne Bancroft
4. Bette Davis
5. Lee Remick
My ranking:
ReplyDelete1. Anne Bancroft
2. Lee Remick
3. Katharine Hepburn
4. Geraldine Page

I would consider Shelley Winters in Lolita instead of Bette Davis.
Eddie
Derek: That's great to hear. :)
ReplyDeleteEddie: I'm going to watch Lolita before finishing the ranking. I have the DVD.

ReplyDeleteVery random predictions since I haven't seen any of them.

God, seriously. Everyone here predicts that your going to go for Bancroft, wich i can't understand. I have seen all of the performance and Bette Davis as Jane Hudson is by far the the best.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY hope you like Bette Davis in what I think is her best performance ever and my second favorite performance of all time. This is one of my favorite years in this category, I've seen all but Page, I think Hepburn was perfect and Bancroft was brilliant and I think Remick was a worthy nominee but she's last for me (I think she was overshadowed by Lemmon who was absolutely perfect!).
ReplyDeleteFor me it's like this:
1. Davis.
2. Hepburn.
3. Bancroft.
4. Remick.
And I hope yours will be:
1. Davis.
2. Hepburn.
3. Bancroft.
4. Remick.
5. Page.
Predicting in the case of such a strong year is very difficult just like in the case of a relatively weak field.
